Sort semantic versions

Sort version strings of the form MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH with an optional pre-release suffix -<label> (for example 1.2.0-rc1). Order rules:

Compare MAJOR, MINOR, PATCH numerically.
For equal numbers, a pre-release comes before the release (1.2.0-rc1 < 1.2.0).
Two pre-releases of the same version compare by label as plain strings.

An optional leading v is allowed and kept in the output.

Function

Implement sort_versions. Input: versions: list[str]. Returns: list[str] sorted ascending.

>>> sort_versions(['1.10.0', '1.9.0', '1.10.0-rc1', 'v1.2.3', '0.9.9'])

['0.9.9', 'v1.2.3', '1.9.0', '1.10.0-rc1', '1.10.0']
